HIV/AIDS Program Manager, Ethiopia

DUTIES
  • Oversee a three-year USAID funded capacity building and community- based HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support program in rural Ethiopia.
  • Serve as the program liaison to HQ, CHF/Ethiopia, prime contractor, other implementing partners, and international donors.
  • Manage overall program and strategy implementation and take responsible for maintaining the integrity of the overall mission, as well as CHF's mission and goals.
  • Provide financial management oversight, analyze budgets, and prepare financial reports; provide recommendations to HQ on budget expenditures.
  • Review quarterly progress reports to insure quality and revise targets as necessary.
  • Travel to site offices and target regions as needed to provide technical assistance and troubleshoot along with staff.
  • Represent CHF and deliver presentations on behalf of CHF in the region and in related conferences.
  • Hire and manage local staff, as program requires.
  • Travel to and work in underdeveloped geographic areas of political instability.

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience overseas in community-based HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support programs.
  • Experience with micro-finance and income generation activities desirable.
  • Program management and NGO capacity-building experience required.
  • Experience working in Africa required; Ethiopia experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Willingness to live and work in under-developed operating environments with frequent travel outside of the capital and trips to HQ as required.
  • Experience working with foreign donors (preferably USAID).
  • Legally able to live and work in the country of assignment.
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • MPH or graduate degree in a closely related field preferred, or BA and equivalent experience.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • English fluency required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents, and communicate with others as necessary to perform job duties effectively.
    Local language capabilities preferred.
