Governance and Public Administration Officer

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

This post is located in the Governance and Public Administration Division (GPAD) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.


  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Economics, Development Studies, Governance, Political Science, Law, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Experience of at least 5 years in research and policy analysis in a range of governance, economic management and public policy issues in the context of Africa is a requirement.
  • Direct experience working on issues relevant to the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) at the national or continental is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets and presentation programmes are required.
