Global Short Story Competition
The competition is designed to appeal to writers everywhere, from the arid outback of Australia to the baking deserts of Africa, the towering skyscrapers of the United States to the humid cities of Asia, the bustling capitals of Europe to the steamy villages of South America.
The competition runs every month with £100 for the winner and £25 for the runner-up and is open to writers from across the world.
At the end of 12 months, each winner will be considered for an annual cash prize of UK£250 (about US$375).
Each winning story is published on the contest’s Web site.
Entries are invited of no more than 2,000 words. There is no theme.
Entries must be by writers aged 17 or over.
Entry is £5 per story.
You may enter the competition every month. However, no more than 4 entries per individual will be accepted in any one judging period.
Entries must be written in English, selected because it is one of the world’s major languages.
Entries cannot be returned.
Entries can be submitted either electronically or by post
Entries will remain the copyright of the author but winning stories will be posted on the internet.
