General Manager Career Jobs 

A licensed franchisee of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) which is the world's most popular chicken restaurant chain in the world with a network of stores across 109 countries. They will soon be expanding its footprint in East Africa by establishing a presence in Uganda.

It seek applications for a senior post of:

1. General Manager

S/He will be responsible and accountable to the board of directors (BoD) for the establishment and overall management and performance of the KFC business in Uganda.

The role entails development of the local Company’s strategic plan, vision and goal as well as the formulation and implementation of all company policies and procedures in areas of operations, human resources management, accounting and finance, supply chain, marketing etc


  • Formulation of an entry and expansion development plan for approval by the board of directors
  • The efficient handling of recruitment and employee relations issues
  • A well functioning, reliable and cost effective supply chain
  • Designing a menu that meets the needs of customers
  • Ensuring that the KFC stores are operating according to global standards.
  • Development of a coherent and systematic approach to the building of new stores (approved by the Board of Directors), particularly in respect of ensuring new stores are built on time and within the development budget;
  • Building a culture that entrenches the global KFC values in the company


  • Masters, Graduate in business or related degree
  • Previous or current working experience in Uganda in the hospitality/food business at a senior leadership level for a minimum of 5 years
  • Must of possess a well established business network in Uganda
  • Demonstrable track record of high performance in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication and high impact presentation skills to all levels of local and international stakeholders
  • Good negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision making skills to deal with issues that arise in a start-up phase of a business
  • A strategic thinker with ability to conceptualize plans, plan activities and deliver on planned targets/objectives.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, ‘can do' attitude – very goal orientated.
  • The ability to implement strong and strict controls, policies and procedures in all aspects of business including financial, accounting, human resources
  • Strong business acumen and intense desire to see the new business succeed and to dedicate the time required to ensure international operating standards are achieved and maintained
  • The ability to handle competently and successfully execute multiple work streams at the same time whilst maintaining focus on the bigger picture
  • An outgoing people person possessing strong mentoring focus in order to build the people in the organisation as the company grows
  • Must be in a possession of a valid passport and willing to travel regionally on company business
  • A customer and employee centric focus is essential
