mLab East Africa is an initiative of the World Bank (Infodev) whose role is to facilitate demand-driven innovation by local and regional entrepreneurs, ensuring that breakthrough low-cost, high-value mobile solutions can be developed and scaled-up into thriving businesses that address social needs.
The fully sponsored training program will provide training and mentoring covering subjects ranging from creating mobile applications to launching them in market.
mLab is looking to train entrepreneurs who are passionate about leveraging mobile phone technology to develop applications that will bring useful service to local communities and create prosperous businesses.
Training Eligibility Criteria:
Self-motivated and have strong interest in Mobile Application Development as a career.
Recent graduate or final year student in IT or related course.
Have attained an Upper Second distinction or equivalent.
Have experience in Java Programming and Object-Oriented design.
Have a good knowledge of a relational database management system and experience in Database Design.
Be fully available to attend this course for its entire duration (6 Months on a full-time basis).
Candidates will need to submit the following docents with their application:
1 page resume detailing why you think you are suitable for consideration
2 references, one of which must be academic and the other professional
Diploma holders who have attained a distinction will also be considered.
