Food, Income and Markets Programme Manager
Location: Katanga province, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Concern Worldwide is an Irish-based non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.
Third level qualification in development management, agricultural economics, social sciences or other relevant discipline.
At least two years overseas NGO experience including at least one year in a management role.
A conceptual understanding of the livelihoods security framework.
Experience in research.
Experience in managing a diverse team composed of Nat’l and Int’l staff in an a complex working environment.
Experience in personnel and financial management.
Specific area of expertise should be ability to plan, implement new programmes, write proposals and reports as well as coaching and mentoring of staff with varying levels of experience and competencies.
Ability to work in French and English
Experience of working in Africa (or elsewhere under similar post-conflict conditions) would be an advantage.
Knowledge of the HAP standard and its application at field level.
Flexible, adaptable and patient.
Ability to train local staff and to motivate and develop skills of others.
Knowledge of Swahili.
Masters degree in development management, agricultural economics, social sciences or other relevant discipline.
