British Council is looking for a dynamic professional to join its finance team at the British Council in Senegal.
As part of the team you will be responsible for assisting the office with day to day issues related to finance, procurement, business continuity and premises.
You will assist the Finance Team by processing a range of SAP based tasks such as raising Purchase Orders, procurement/suppliers, financial and budgetary information, assistance with financial and accounting services, as well as premises maintenance.
Job aim :
To fulfill basic finance-related administrative tasks, as directed by FM, such as:
Preparing/raising local purchase orders on SAP.
Holding the imprest, paying out claims, maintaining the petty cash record and checking and replenishing the cash imprest at regular intervals.
Delivering cheques to suppliers.
To receive income (cash/cheques) on a daily basis and deposit it in the safe or bank as appropriate; to collect cash from the bank up to his approval limit.
To monitor and meet needs for office supplies, and deal with suppliers, e.g. for stationery and cleaning supplies.
To support any events, or movements of people to or from the office, e.g. by; Making arrangements for travel and transportation, Dealing with visa needs, including Admission Temporaire, Making arrangements to meet visitors at the airport, Making hotel bookings,Arranging catering and Maintaining staff contact details.
To provide assistance to UK-appointed staff, and Language Assistants, in relation to accommodation and related needs.
To be responsible for goods imported, e.g. baggage, vehicles, books etc, handling customs and clearance procedures and arranging delivery.
To assist FM by maintaining inventories for all Council properties.
To collect and deliver Britich Council mail for the Embassy bag.
To review and sign off the Vehicle Log Book.
