The FGIM is expected to fit the following profile:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting, or a closely related degree relevant to finance or business management.
Ten (10) years' financial management experience in the agri-business sector working with SMEs.
Recent experience in Zambia (i.e. in the last 3 years) or
substantial experience in southern Africa.
Participatory business planning and financial / economic analysis of micro-project / business proposals.
Experience of designing small-scale projects in the agri-business sector with SMEs using a participatory and logframe-based approach.
Experience of financial management of grant-supported micro-projects.
Technical and financial monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and quality assurance of grant-supported micro-projects.
Candidates with the following attributes will have an advantage:
Experience in the micro-finance sector in Zambia.
Knowledge of a relevant Zambian language.
Experience of adopting a facilitative and participatory approach throughout all aspects of project design, implementation and M&E.
Working experience with producers' associations, commercial farmers, input providers, traders and outgrower schemes in Zambia or southern Africa.
