Finance/Administration Specialist - East Africa

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field of study

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an Accountant, with at least seven years experience working for an international development organization

  • Familiarity with USAID regulations CFR.226 is mandatory
  • Excellent organizational skills and eye for detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and dependability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English and ability to communicate in languages spoken within the Greater Mandera region, including Somali, Amharic, Oromo, Rendille, Boran, Kiswahili, and/or Colloquial Arabic

  • Basic proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and Web-based applications

    Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance or related field of study

  • Five years experience working in international development with a Master's degree

  • Prior experience working on project administration for USAID-funded projects

  • Prior experience working on complex development projects in challenging environments (disaster or conflict ridden or prone) with USAID and/or other donors

  • Familiarity and skills to create, maintain and manage an MIS system, and ability to address troubleshooting with IT problems
