Finance and Administration Manager, Mercy Corps, Darfur, Sudan
Knowledge and Experience:
The position requires a BA/S degree in accounting/finance, a minimum of three years finance and management experience.
Overseas experience is required, international NGO/PVO field office experience is preferred.
Demonstrated experience and skill with budget preparations and analysis, financial reporting preparation and presentation, USAID rules and regulations, and the proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports is required.
Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills are necessary.
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
Experience working in difficult conditions, knowledge of appropriate language and regional experience is preferred.
Ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel both in a managerial as well as training capacity is required.
Ability to support programmatic objectives with timely and meaningful financial information is essential.
A demonstrated ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and process information in support of changing program activities is necessary.
An impeccable professional standard of finance and procurement ethics as well as the willingness and ability to enforce compliance with Mercy Corps and donor policies and procedures is essential.
Must be willing to travel regularly to all Darfur field offices and project sites.
Darfur staff live in basic but comfortable group housing.
The finance and administration officer will be expected to travel at least 50% of his/her time, often staying in very basic lodging.
