Facilities Planning and Management Specialist

CSIR Consulting and Analytical Services has a vacancy for a Facilities Planning and Management Specialist in its Immovable Asset Management area.

The position focuses on the strategic planning, operation and management of property portfolios or the estate in thepublic sector to optimise the performance of the estate while achieving programmatic objectives.

While the business area covers all public sector immovable assets, specific focus will be on the health and education sectors.

This position is based in Pretoria.

Job Purpose:

  • Strategic planning, operation and management of the public sector estate to optimise the performance of the estate

  • Support of and guidance to sectoral infrastructure strategies and emerging policy on government immovable asset management

  • Conceptualisation and development of processes and systems for improving the management of immovable assets.

    Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a facilities management-related field

  • A postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage

  • A minimum of five years experience in infrastructure/estate planning and budgeting at a strategic level

  • Demonstrable proposal and report-writing experience

  • Project management skills

  • Specific experience with public sector infrastructure delivery programmes would be a strong advantage

  • Functional computer literacy is essential; advanced skills would be an added advantage

  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team

  • Problem-solving, solution-seeking orientation

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and writing skills.
