Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF) Scholarships are awarded by EREF to recognize excellence in master's, doctoral or post-doctoral waste management research and education.

Qualifications:

  • Applications will be considered from those who:
  • Will be this year or are now a full-time master's student, doctoral student or post-doctoral researcher; and
  • Have a clearly demonstrated interest in waste management

    Amounts awarded take into account the cost of tuition at the recipient's institution and any other funds received.

    Full scholarships cannot be awarded to students who will be receiving full-tuition scholarships from other sources (excluding direct university assistance such as tuition remission and/or income received from assistantships), although such students may still be considered for partial awards.

    Doctoral and post-doctoral scholarships are awarded yearly up to $12,000 each, paid monthly, and are renewable for two additional years (a total of three years).

    Master's scholarships are awarded for an amount up to $5,000 per year, renewable for a total of two years. Progress must be certified annually by the student's academic advisor.

    Scholarship application deadline: April 30
