Economic Security Specialist, ACDI/VOCA - Uganda

ACDI/VOCA currently seeks an Economic Security Specialist for potential long-term work in Uganda.

This work would be to ensure peace and security, good governance, access to social services, economic growth, and humanitarian assistance in northern Uganda. Anticipated project duration will be two years.

Qualifications:

  • must have a minimum of six years experience in market-oriented economic development in conflict-affected environments (i.e. banking, microfinance, small business development, vocational training and/or livelihoods development)

  • minimum of Master's Degree in business administration, economics, finance or related field required

  • in-depth knowledge of market and/or sub-sector analysis, financial and economic/social analysis and/or other tools for measuring tangible results of economic opportunity interventions required

  • work experience in Africa required

  • must be willing to be based in and work out of Gulu

  • previous experience working in Northern Uganda or East African conflict-affected regions preferred

  • demonstrated knowledge of food security and/or poverty reduction issues preferred

  • good knowledge of USAID policies and procedures preferred

  • knowledge of local languages preferred
