Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kampala or Nairobi with significant travel.
Build Africa specialises in education and enterprise with cross cutting work in HIV/AIDS and Gender.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the two local Country Directors and boards, you will be accountable for programme quality and for statutory income. As a member of the international management team, you will play a key role in the leadership of Build Africa.
Someone with several years' senior field experience, perhaps as country director or assistant, with the credibility to provide direction, support and oversight in an advisory rather than line management capacity is being sought.
This is not a desk post and you will spend considerable time with communities. You understand the critical success factors in community development and have designed and managed projects that created real impact.
You are entrepreneurial, well connected and possess a strong track record in statutory fundraising.
You have strong training and writing skills and are able to achieve a lot with little.
You are prepared to think outside the development box.
