Director of Finance
Applications are invited from nationals of the Member States of the East African Development Bank (EADB or the Bank) for the position of Director of Finance.
Reporting to the Director General, the successful candidate will serve as a member of the senior management team and will be in position to shape the future of this growing organisation.
He/she will take charge of Bank’s accounting & financial aspects and offer professional guidance and leadership to the finance team.
Essential skills include:
Treasury operations; asset/liability management; swap book management and liability funding; credit management, funds transfer pricing and product pricing.
Experience in concluding transactions in the capital markets and IT literacy are key requirements.
Essential qualifications are set out below:
A Bachelors degree in Economics (Econometrics), Mathematics(with a financial specialisation), Commerce(accounting option ) or other relevant degree from a recognised University;
A Masters degree in accounting, business, or finance from a recognised University;
A formal accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or CIPFA) from a recognised accounting body;
A minimum of 10 years experience heading a finance function, and a minimum of three years working in the Treasury Department of a large bank or similar financial institution;
Expert knowledge of financial and accounting procedures preferably in a development finance institution;
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, International Public Sector Accounting Standards and International Standards on Auditing required;
A detailed and stable employment history;
Membership in the relevant professional body; and
Fluency in English.
Exhibiting a passion for the mandate and values of East African Development Bank and previous change management responsibility for ICT, property and housing management will be a distinct advantage.
