Communications Coordinator, Right To Play, Sudan

Location: Juba, Sudan

Contract Start Date: July

Contract Duration: 12 months

Honorarium:

$12,000 USD (Plus; accommodation in-field, flight to and from the placement location, up to $500 CAD in vaccinations, insurance coverage for the duration of the contract and costs associated with participation in mandatory training in Toronto, Canada)

The Right To Play Communications Coordinator (CC) is responsible for the overall development and execution of the Right To Play internal and external communications strategy in-country and in line Right To Play International’s global strategy and the regional communications strategy.

Qualifications

Education/Training/ Certification

Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, related fields or commensurate experience

Experience and Core Competencies

Required

• At least two to three of relevant employment experience

• Previous international experience, preferably in a developing country

• Demonstrable experience in developing communication, social mobilization plans and materials.

• Excellent command of written and spoken English required

• Comprehensive computer skills; fully conversant with Microsoft Office software and at least one publishing software

• Excellent written and oral presentation skills and ability to communicate to a variety of audiences, including the media, the public, government officials, NGOs, Right To Play affiliates, and others

• Experience in media relations

• Editing/proofreading

• Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills

• Creative and able to work well under pressure

• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

• An interest in human rights and social change issues

• Experience with photography

• Good knowledge of the NGO and media environment in Sudan

• Familiarity and interest in sports and Sport for Development
