Location: Sudan (Nyala)

Ability to undertake rapid assessments, develop concept papers, prepare proposals, and implementation reports for donors.
Ability to work under very minimal (none) supervision. Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation.
Understanding of children, youth, women and gender development issues in relief situations.
Knowledge in setting up and supporting, adult education, vocational training and micro project centers.
Training skills in project planning, designing, implementing, management and monitoring.
Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) especially in English.
A good team player, with demonstrated leadership ability, and strong negotiating skills.
Knowledge of MS Office, Lotus Notes and related software a must.
Good understanding of the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct, Sphere Standards, Charter of the Rights of the Child, and adherence to Humanitarian Principles.
Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Commitment to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement.
Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
Strongly Preferred: University degree in Development/Social Studies or related field. 3 to 5 years field experience with NGO’s in developing countries, with at least 2 years in senior position working in a relief environment.
Preferred: Working knowledge of Arabic an advantage.
