Duration Fixed Term: 3 years
Candidates should meet the following:
Advanced University Degree in Natural Sciences, Agriculture,
Economics, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development or related field
Ten years of relevant experience in policy analysis and
development, particularly in the livestock sector in developing and/or
countries in transition
Working knowledge of English
Candidates will be assessed against the following:
Extent and relevance of experience in policy analysis and
formulation, ideally in the livestock-sector
Extent of experience in leadership, management and coordination
of multi-disciplinary teams, and with negotiating with senior
government officials, international agencies and multilateral
Extent of experience in project formulation and knowledge of
funding requirements of major multilateral and bilateral funding agencies
Level and quality of analytical skills as demonstrated through publication record in refereed, professional journals
Extent of working experience in developing and/or countries in transition and in IGAD countries in particular
Quality of oral and written communication skills on technical
and policy issues, in English
Extent of knowledge of FAO activities, structure and procedures
