Qualification and Requirements:

  • Possess A Diploma In Any Of The Following Fields; Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science & Technology, Food Science & Technology, Agriculture & Home Economics, Agriculture, Animal Health And Production, Range Management /farm Management Or Any Other Relevant Qualifications From A Recognized Institution;

  • Served In The Grade Of Senior Assistant Livestock Production Officer I, Job Group ‘l’ Or In A Comparable Position In The Public Service For A Minimum Period Of Three (3) Years;

  • Demonstrated Supervisory And Administrative Ability In Work Performance AndResults.

    Duties And Responsibilities:

    An Officer At This Level May Be Deployed At The District To Head A Division.

    They Coordinate And Supervise All Livestock Production Activities. The Specific Duties And Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Planning And Budgeting, Implementation Of Livestock Projects And Supervising Divisional Subject Matter Specialists;

  • Preparing Monthly, Quarterly And Annual Reports For The Division;

  • Coordinating Any Of The Following Programmes At The District Level: Animal Production, Range Management, Promotion Of Livestock, Agribusiness, Project Monitoring And Evaluation, Research – Extension Liaison, Livestock Marketing, Apiculture And Cross – Cutting Issues Such As Gender Coordination, Hiv/aids And The Environment Concerns;

  • Being Responsible For Networking And Collaboration With Other Stakeholders.
