Finance and Administration Manager
(Ref: 01/09)
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for all aspects of finance and administration, and is required to maintain frequent contacts with all other divisional managers.

Qualifications/personal competencies:

  • Degree in accounting or finance, possession of an MBA is an added advantage
  • A qualified accountant with CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Four (4) years working experience in Finance and Administration, experience of financial sector environment is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of computerized financial and accounting systems.
  • Strong diplomatic, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of negotiation and administration of contracts and legal documents.
  • Experience formulating objectives, standards, and procedures.
  • Leadership and coordination abilities
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Knowledge of Staff employment regulations, Code of conduct and Financial Regulations.
  • Proven ability to solve complex accounting problems and communicate effectively on these with nonspecialist staff.
  • Must be a member of good standing in a professional body such as ICPAK

Senior Research and Policy Officer
(Ref: 02/09)
The objective of the post is to work within strategy and policy department, delivering research projects which contribute to the formulation of evidence based youth economic empowerment policies and the delivery of the Board’s business strategy and plans.

This position will report to the General Manager.

Qualifications

  • First degree in relevant field. Masters degree is desirable/added advantage
  • At least three (3) years working experience gained in a post that includes research, information gathering, analysis and policy development
  • Practical experience and skills in research design, methodology and project implementation
  • The ability to analyse and evaluate information from a wide variety of sources and present it in a usable format to a variety of audiences.
  • Policy development Experience in drafting discussion and policy papers from information obtained from primary and secondary research.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Understanding of government programmes and policies particularly relating to youth and/or other disadvantaged groups

Credit Officer

Reporting to the Manager-lending and Investment, the Credit Officer will be assigned a regional credit Portfolio and will work hand in hand with District Youth Officers to ensure individual and/or Youth Groups who have benefited from the Organization are performing as expected.

Qualifications:

  • A first degree in Business related field from a reputable University;
  • Specialized training in Credit or Micro Finance will be a definite advantage.
  • At least 2 years experience in Credit, preferably in a Micro Finance Institution;
  • Possession of good analytical and reporting skills;
  • Willingness to travel to remote rural areas of Kenya.
  • Have passion and eagerness to assist and help empower the most marginalized youths across the 210 Constituencies in the Country and
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to interact with key stakeholders including Senior Government Officials and Private Sector Actors.
Legal Officer

Reporting to the Company Secretary, the Legal Officer will be part of a team that will attend to legal matters of the organization including but not limited to drawing and execution of legal documents and representing the organization in court cases.

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelors degree in Law from a reputable University;
  • Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
  • Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a Current Practising Certificate;
  • At least three (3) years experience in legal practice or equivalent;
  • Must possess at least Section four (4) of Certified Public Secretaries qualifications.

Senior Internal Auditor

Reporting to the Audit, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, the Senior Internal Auditor ensures that the organization’s system and processes are efficient and all the company regulations are adhered to on a continuous basis.

S/he ensures that the organization’s network of Risk management, Control and Governance processes as designed and represented are adequate and functioning in the desired manner.

Qualifications/competencies

  • Bachelors Degree in Commerce or any other business related degree (preferably Accounting)
  • Full professional accounting qualification i.e. ACCA/CPA (K)
  • Membership to professional bodies will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 4 years experience in implementing audit plans and programs, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Experience in conducting and supervising both financial and management audits and the ability to audit a computerized, operational, financial and accounting system will be required.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office applications, and preferably computer audited techniques.

Public Relations Officer

Reporting to the Public Relations Manager the Public Relations Officer will play a key role in the researching, planning, developing and implementing PR strategies of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A first degree in journalism, mass communications or a bachelors degree in social sciences with post graduate diploma in journalism or mass communications
  • A proven flair for writing
  • At least three years post qualification experience, mainly in the print media
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Ability to analyze complex information from different sources and to synthesize this information into coherent briefs and communication documents
  • The ability to influence others, to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Kiswahili.

In addition the person must demonstrate initiative, a passion for working with the youth and a belief in them. He or she must be able to work with minimum supervision.

Customer Service Officer

This position will report to the Public Relations Manager.

We are looking for a fast learner with a strong passion for customer service, enthusiastic and dedicated to total customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • At least a degree in social sciences with some training in business related field.
  • At least two years experience in customer service in a busy organization
  • Ability to write letters
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to think creatively on the feet
  • The ability to influence others, to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Kiswahili.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven experience of relationship management with stakeholders
  • A positive attitude, attentive, listening and communication skills are essential.
  • Training and/or experience in counseling as well as working with the youth will be an added advantage

The person will be expected to demonstrate ability to work in a multi cultural environment. He or she will also be expected to be above average in patience, tolerance and to be able to keep his/her cool. He/she must be a people’s person and must be widely knowledgeable.

Administrative Officer

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the Administrative Officer will be responsible for facilitating all administrative tasks including supervision of lower level staff, liaison, finances, procurement, human resource, communication, and other logistics issues.
Qualifications/competencies:

  • Holder of postgraduate degree in public administration and/or business related fields
  • Possess progressive work experience in similar position in a large and busy organization for at least the last four years
  • Must at least have partial professional qualification in finance/accounting e.g CPA/ACCA
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Well developed computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of human resources and administrative practices
  • Initiative in anticipating problems and developing appropriate solutions
  • A customer-centric work ethic

General Manager

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager is responsible for providing technical advice on program management and development.

Qualifications/personal competencies:

  • Must be holder of master’s degree in any of the following fields: business administration, education, finance, economics or strategic management
  • Must have progressive minimum work experience of four years with at least the last two years in a senior management position in reputable organization in the public or private sector
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy formulation and implementation, operations management and building partnerships
  • Knowledge of government policies and procedures is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain working relationships with partners
  • Tack, negotiation and decision making skills
  • Experience in micro, small and medium entrepreneurship development and/or finance organization would be an added advantage
  • Possession of sound personal attributes of integrity and honesty is a must

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be in charge of the accounting function under the Finance Department of the Organization and will report to the Finance and Administration Manager.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that all financial resources of the Organization are sourced and acquired, disbursed, prudently invested, fully accounted for and reported efficiently.

Qualifications/competencies:

  • A First degree in business related discipline from a recognized University;
  • CPA (K) or equivalent Professional qualification in Accounting;
  • Have at least 5 years post qualification experience gained from working with a reputable organization in public and private sector;
  • Good understanding and experience in all aspects of accounting and financial management including management of donor funds;

Accountant

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accountant is responsible ensuring professional management of the accounting activities within the organization.

Qualifications/personal competencies

Accounts Assistant

The Accounts Assistant will prepare and maintain accurate records and provide timely information to facilitate decision making and efficient management within the finance function. Qualifications/personal competencies:

  • At least a C+ in KCSE.
  • Minimum of CPA II qualification.
  • Minimum of two years experience working in an accounts department.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in working with computers & accounting software.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
  • A degree from a recognized university would be an added advantage.
  • At least 25 years old and not more than 28 years old.

ICT Officer

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the Information, Communication and Technology Officer will be responsibility for overall IT and communication solutions of the organization.

Qualifications/personal competencies:

  • Master’s degree in Information, Communications Technology or computer science, telecommunications or Engineering or related discipline or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of specialized relevant experience in supporting ICT infrastructure systems in a complex environment may be accepted in lieu of master’s degree
  • Cisco (CCNE) and/or Microsoft certification (MCSE) are required
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in the field of ICT (hardware and software), installation, operation, maintenance, and management of network and communications equipment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of current and emerging ICT technologies; strong working knowledge of GOK system rules, regulations, procedures and practices.
