Canadian High Commission Jobs

Location: Tanzania.

The Canadian High Commission, acting via the Canadian Cooperation Office (CCC) in Tanzania on behalf of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), has a requirement for the services of an experienced individual to take on the role of:

1. Legal Sector Working Group Coordinator

Advising the CIDA Governance Team Leader and the donor partners in the Legal Sector Reform Working Group, the Consultant will play a key role in supporting donor involvement in the implementation and monitoring of the Government of Tanzania’s Legal Sector Reform Programme (LSRP), a basket-fund program of approximately US$70m over three (3) years involving 9 Tanzanian Implementing Agencies.

Mandatory Criteria:

  • Must be legally and operationally in a position to work in Tanzania
  • Must hold a university undergraduate or graduate degree (e.g. B.A., M.A., LLM, LLB, Ph.D. or the equivalent) in the legal/justice sector from a recognized and reputable educational institution
  • Must have 48 months or more of working experience in the legal/justice sector, in which at least 24 months were spent working in Africa
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
