Australian High Commission Jobs

Location: Kenya.

The Australian High Commission, Nairobi is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of:

1. Office Manager

The Australian High Commission is seeking a talented new staff member to take on a managerial role in the Administration Section.With a focus on staff development, training, performance monitoring and efficiencies the successful candidate will have a strong human resources/management background.He or she will also manage cleaning and gardening contracts and undertake some financial and general performance auditing and reporting responsibilities.The successful applicant will need to work well as part of a team and have an appreciation of the high standards of integrity required by the Australian High Commission.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualification of a university degree in human resource management, finance, business, law or administration.
  • Demonstrable experience in human resource management in private or public sector and familiarity with the operation of an international organisation at a corporate level would be well regarded.
  • Organisational and time management skills of the highest order and the ability to coordinate staff workloads to achieve maximum flexibility and efficiency in an environment where continuous improvement is highly valued.
  • Information Technology skills including full use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications is required.
  • A strong and demonstrable understanding of the importance of client service.
  • Ability to perform audits that require a high level of attention to detail and some mathematical/analytical capacity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including in day-to-day consultation, liaison, negotiation.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills and ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Ability to take initiative, adapt and respond to challenges, and set priorities.
  • Ability and interest to work in an international context and cross-cultural environment.
  • Previous experience living or working overseas will be viewed positively.

    Applications must be hand delivered or courier-delivered to the Australian High Commission’s Guardhouse between the hours of 0700hrs and 1800hrs seven days per week in a sealed envelope addressed to the Senior Administrative Officer – Office Manager.
