AWF currently seeks to hire a: Senior Program Manager, Conservation Enterprise (Africa) Key Responsibilities Long term, pan-continental strategic planning for conservation enterprise together with the other core disciplines within AWF.Proactively communicate with and support those responsible within AWF for raising funds to support the delivery of the conservation enterprise strategy as well supporting fund raising initiatives by liaising directly with prospective third party financiers.Lead in identifying, assessing and rationalising new, high potential conservation enterprise development opportunities that will directly support AWF’s mission and the specific conservation enterprise strategy within it.;Manage the process of designing, structuring, developing and launching qualifying conservation enterprises, including designing and negotiating related contracts with participating parties.Monitor and record the progress of operational enterprises and providing on-going support as appropriate.Lead the on-going design, development and deployment of processes and tools that will supportAWF’s ability to more efficiently deliver conservation enterprises in a high-growth expanding geographic context for the organisation.Assist in developing the technical capacity and transfer of technical expertise to project staff in the field.Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree from a reputable University or one or a combination of a relevant post graduate degree (business or finance related) and a relevant professional qualification;Outstanding work-based / entrepreneurial credentials immediately following university.Excellent working knowledge of core principles of management and financialsSignificant working exposure to designing and negotiating financing and / or business development related legal contracts.A demonstrable passion and skill for business development and related financing – either in a self-starting context or that of a wider / larger institution / corporation.Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills including demonstrable cross-cultural sensitivity.International experience.Fluency in written and spoken English essential. Program Grants AdministratorBased in its offices in Arusha, Tanzania. The successful candidate will: Support Directors of Maasai Steppe and Kilimanjaro Heartland in managing overall grant implementation, tracking activities and outputs against the agreed budgetProvide overall support to Heartland teams to develop detailed annual program implementation plans for subsequent years, agree the detailed budget and establish the necessary financial tracking processes to ensure full compliance with donor requirementsEnsures the technical and financial donor and AWE reporting is compliant and ¡s of highest quality and delivered on time; Work with Heartland teams to evaluate specific project progress, organize and participate in meetings to help determine conservation priorities and stakeholders/partners involvement.Support development of capacity among Heartland teams in grant management skills and encourage effective tracking of spending against project work plan and pace of implementation;Design and implement a system to ensure effective internal and external communication regarding program 1m plementationReview and assist ¡n the preparation of financial and technical reports as appropriate; ensure that all written program documentation including contracts, donor correspondence, reports, templates are produced and organized ¡n a timely and effective manner for sign off by the Director.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related fieldAt least 5 years relevant working experience, at least 2 years within a donor funded non-profit organization.Demonstrated knowledge of grant management principles, including U.S. government funding;Experience communicating complex financial information to a non-financial audience.Ability to design complex financial models, proposal budgets, and other financial reports.Ability to organize and present issues ¡n a clear, concise and logical manner.Strong technical skills, including MS Excel, report writer tools, and ability to navigate within accounting systems and other data bases.Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise good judgment, and quickly identify and resolve problems with minimum supervision.If your background, experience and competencies match the above specifications please send a cover letter, your detailed CV indicating daytime telephone numbers, address and names of three referees to Human Resources Manager at Humanresources [at] awfke.org.
