The International Crisis Group (Crisis Group) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, with nearly 120 staff members on five
continents, working through field-based analysis and high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict.
The International Crisis Group is seeking three interns to support:
1. The Africa Program Research Director
2. The Africa Program Advocacy Director
3. The Central Africa Project Director
Duties and responsibilities:
- Carry out desk research on core conflict issues in the regions relevant to Crisis Group Africa program as directed by your supervisor;
- Provide assistance editing reports and briefings on conflict issues, and other documents produced by Africa program staff;
- Prepare advocacy and research materials and attend meetings with/on behalf of the Crisis Group staff;
- Assist with composing weekly situation reports and carry out daily press reviews;
- Administrative work, including arranging for meetings and database management;
- Assist Africa program staff with everyday office needs.
Start date - immediate; for a 3 month position, renewable for up to 1 year based on performance.

Please note that the successful interns will receive a stipend of Kenya Shilling equivalent 300 USD per month to cover subsistence costs.

Qualifications :
Requirements:
- Master's education in political science, conflict studies, international relations, or similar;
- An excellent verbal and written command of English and a very good working knowledge of French;
- Knowledge of the Africa conflict issues;
- High level of computer literacy;
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to issues;
- Proven research skills;
- Experience in an international relations environment/ NGO, desirable but not compulsory;
- African nationals - preferably those allowed to work in Kenya
