Tumaini scholarships are designed to fight poverty by training young people for vocational careers. The Scholarship may be used to support school fees and related material costs for vocational training. Any vocational training course is eligible including carpentry, tailoring, mechanics, masonry, etc.
The University of Glasgow will award 60 undergraduate scholarships of up to £12,000 each for international students starting a degree programme in September.
The Harold and Olga Fox Scholarship fund award Scholarships every year to overseas students applying for the BSc degree programme in Biology, Environmental Biology, Genetics, Human Genetics or Zoology. The Scholarship amount is £15,000 (£5000 towards fees in each of the three years of the Scholar's course).
Up to 12 full scholarships are available each year from the CUD (Commission Universitaire pour le Développement) to students coming from developing countries. The Scholarship covers, tuition fee, living expenses, return tickets plus a few additional costs.
The Nile Basin Initiative (NBI), a project funded by the World Bank, is offering ten Master’s of Science Scholarships in areas relevant for water resources Decision Support System. The scholarship covers tuition fees, standard living allowances, the costs of return airfare and other expenses.
UNU-WIDER typically provides a monthly stipend of 2,000 euros as a contribution towards travel, accommodation, medical, and other out-of-pocket expenses. Developing country scholars may apply for a supplementary grant to cover high travel costs and for some places in the programme, preference will be given to females and to applicants from developing countries.
Four MA scholarships are available to students starting in September 2008 and two MA scholarships to those starting in January 2009. The scholarships are open to students of all nationalities.
Up to eight scholarships from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission will be available for students from Commonwealth countries studying the MSc in Structural Molecular Biology. The scholarships will cover 100% of the course fees.
The Erasmus Mundus programme in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology is a joint effort of the European Commission and five leading research institutions in Europe who together have created a unique opportunity for ambitious students. The scholarships amount to 42,000 Euro to cover the two-year expenses.
The Master of Integrated Water Management Scholarships will cover full tuition costs of $36,000 in fee costs of the three semester MIWM Program as well as Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of the Program.
The EMP is aimed at students who want to complete a Masters programme in microfinance and at the same time acquire expertise through work experience in a developing country. The purpose of the programme is to develop future professionals in microfinance who will contribute to the strengthening of microfinance institutions worldwide in accordance with the highest international standards.
The International Federation of University Women (IFUW) offers a fellowships and grants to women graduates for advanced research, study, and training. Fellowship offers CAD$12,000 and the recipients may study in any country other than their own.
The main objective of the fellowship is to provide opportunities for advanced education and training in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, and related disciplines including marine science so that they may obtain the necessary knowledge to assist their countries.
Under the Charlotte Conservation Fellowship Program, AWF is offering scholarships for full MSc or partial Ph.D. programs with field research components that produce knowledge or insight into specific conservation challenges in the African Heartlands or conservation in general. Each scholarship is valued at US$ 25,000.
The University of Kent at Brussels invites applications for two full time doctoral research scholarships commencing September 2008. Candidates will receive a maintenance grant of €9000 p.a. and tuition fees of €13,690.
The scholarship aims to provide young academics with financial support and also the opportunity to present a paper before eminent lawyers and academics in the field. The scholarship will cover registration costs for the Conference and will include some contribution towards associated costs.
The organising committee invites proposals for presentations at African Digital Scholarship & Curation 2009, to be held at the CSIR Conference Centre, Pretoria, South Africa 12-14 May. Dynamic speakers from African and all other countries willing to share their knowledge and experience about information content, tools, techniques, processes and management are welcome.
The EvoSTOC workshop's objective is to foster interest in the issue of handling uncertainties, to provide a forum for researchers to meet, and a platform to present and discuss latest research in the field. Travel Bursaries will be granted to students and researchers from developing countries.
Grants up to $5,000 are available for participation in conferences or other networking opportunities. Potential applicants should submit a one-page letter of intent outlining the details of the international meeting and their funding request.
The Michigan Department of Community Health is offering a limited number of consumer scholarships for the International Conference on Self-Determination at the Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan.
The Fund currently provides one-year grants, of up to $50,000 to emerging and more established community foundations and, where appropriate, to support organizations or community foundation associations.
