The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) is pleased to announce its Scholarship Award to support undergraduate students from developing countries in pursuit of higher education. The winner will receive a scholarship of up to $100,000, spread over a maximum of two years.

This grant is open to third world women who are seeking graduate degrees at recognized colleges or universitites in the US.

Each year, up to 180 scholarships are available to first-year students. This opportunity is open to residents of developing countries.

Applications are invited from to women of outstanding ability intending to increase knowledge in fundamental sciences. Awards will be made irrespective of race, religion, nationality, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, or age.

The MSc in Nutritional Sciences Scholarship is available for academically outstanding candidates who lack funding. The MSc in Nutritional Sciences Scholarships are intended for candidates from developing countries.

Grants to support wildlife conservation field research in Africa, Asia, and Latin America (including Mexico) are available. Grants are for up to $25,000, and are for one year.

The scholarships are awarded between $1,000 - $4,000, and will cover the cost of transportation to and from Israel. The MSc in Plant Sciences Scholarships are intended for candidates from developing countries.

Applications for IFS Research Grants are welcome from young students in developing countries. Application deadline approaching fast. All interested students should send their applications by 31 December.

The Christensen Fund (TCF) invites applications from institutions based anywhere in the world for grants within the framework of the Global Biocultural Initiative. Maximum grant size at this time is $200,000 over two years.

The Ramsar Small Grants Fund was established as a mechanism to assist developing countries and those with economies in transition in implementing the Convention and to enable the conservation and wise use of wetland resources. Successful proposals receive 80% of the allocated funds upon signature of the contract and the remainder upon submission of an adequate final report.

Sida will offer a scholarship covering participation fee and accommodation and cover costs for international travel to and from Sweden for the participants. The main objective of the program is to scrutinize the role of the media in democratic processes and strengthen the position of free and independent journalism.

Malaysian International Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies offers opportunities to an excellent and outstanding young students to pursue their higher education in Malaysian universities. It is required that the applicant be in good health and be certified fit medically by a certified Doctor/Medical Professional of the bilateral partner country.

IFS is calling for researchers interested in working in teams on topics related to linkages between water management, food production, poverty, and the environment. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in partnership with others from different research backgrounds.

The Folk high school Memorial Fund provides a scholarship for one year at a Norwegian Folk high school. This scholarship is established to promote cultural exchange between foreign countries and the Norwegian folk high schools.

The Arthur Helton Fellowship Program program will assist students and young lawyers to pursue their first opportunities to engage in human rights work and research. Applicants can be of any nationality. The successful applicant's proposal will involve affiliation with an NGO or human rights organization.

The International Baccalaureate(IB) bursary fund provides short-term grants for schools experiencing financial challenges or wanting to increase access to International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. Grants are short term, valid for one year with a possible extension to two years maximum.

This program was developed to address research training needs related to infectious diseases that are predominantly endemic in or impact upon people living in developing countries. The applicants should be citizens of developing country.

The Women's Dermatologic Society (WDS) will provide a Travel Grant of up to $2,500 to each awardee. Preferences will be given to those with financial constraints. Applicants must prepare a budget which may include reasonable travel expenses, necessary tuition, appropriate housing expenses.

Mama Cash wants to change the world and therefore invests in women who, in spite of the dangers, believe in ideals and struggle for justice and change. Mama Cash, pays for office costs, staff costs, and capacity building of the organisation and its staff and volunteers.

Girls Global Education Fund (GGEF) provides scholarships to girls in developing countries who would otherwise be unable to attend school. Scholarships are given to girls in primary school, junior high and high school.

The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture is offering two annual scholarships for its MA by Research in Sustainable Design programme. The MA by Research program offers tuition fees and a maintenance and travel grant of £11,000.

Scholarships are being offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (UK) for citizens of other Commonwealth countries to undertake study in the United Kingdom. To be eligible for an award the candidates must be available, by 1 October 2008, to commence their academic studies in the United Kingdom.

The Reuters Foundation Fellowship Programme offers fully funded Fellowships to journalists from throughout the world. Around 25 journalists from around the globe study in Oxford each year on Fellowships of either three, six or nine months, covering one, two or all three terms of the academic year.

APS is now accepting applications for the International Travel Grant Award Program (ITGAP). The amount of the award is up to US$2,000 for travel and lodging expenses for international travel while visiting a collaborator.

The Anthony Thompson Award enables a qualified librarian from outside the UK to visit and study some aspects of UK library and information work. Applicants should have at least five years experience and have not made a previous professional visit to the UK.

This is a three year scholarship for the full-time BSc Honours Biomedical Sciences. The scholarship offers full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses and annual flights to and from London.

A limited number of scholarships are available to begin in 2008, with additional opportunities to begin in 2009. Successful applicants will have broad flexibility to undertake their thesis research within the scope of the CSAG climate change research profile.

The Finnish Government offers scholarships of 3-9 months for postgraduate studies, research and teaching at a higher education institution in Finland. The ideal candidate should be able to give proof of sufficient skills in speaking and writing the language needed in study/research.

WIGS is able to provide a contribution towards the travel costs of postgraduates attending a WIGS annual meeting. WIGS shall also support students who are within three years of completing a course and have no other source of funding.

The Dudley D Ewes Scholarships of up to the value of R10 000 each for post-honours studies are awarded annually. They are open to all in possession of a University Honours degree and candidates must potentially contribute to the fulfilment of the Foundation’s mission.
