1. Virtual Poetry Slam Scholarship Contest The Virtual Poetry Slam Scholarship Contest is available to all students, especially poets, artists and activists who are interested in creating a performance poetry piece focused on the issue of torture. International entrants are subject to a 30 per cent reduction in prize money for U.S. tax purposes.
2. Design for Sustainable Development Scholarships - Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden The Swedish Institute will award Design for Sustainable Development Scholarships. The number of available scholarships varies from year to year, and competition is keen.
3. Distance Learning Course Bursaries - University of London Several Distance Learning Course Bursaries are now available for distance learning students who would not otherwise be able to afford courses at School of Crystallography, University of London. The bursaries will provide £1,000 per year for one or two years.
4. MSc in Structural Biology Scholarships Up to 6 MSc in structural biology scholarships are being provided for commonwealth students studying structural biology this year (2007) at Birkbeck college, University of London. Application forms, references and supporting statements must be submitted to the School of Crystallography by the 1st May.
5. Master in Maritime Law Scholarships - Lund University, Sweden The Swedish Institute will award Master in Maritime Law Scholarships. The number of available scholarships varies from year to year, and competition is keen.
6. MSc in Environmental Engineering Scholarships - Luleå University of Technology The Swedish Institute will award MSc in Environmental Engineering Scholarships. The scholarships are for students from targeted developing countries, in order to help grow special competencies where they are most needed.
7. Masters Studentships in the History of Medicine - Newcastle University The School of Historical Studies at Newcastle University is pleased to advertise 3 Masters Studentship Awards for postgraduate study at Newcastle University. A stipend of £16,853 + home/EU-fees will be awarded.
8. Unique Research Opportunities, NTNU, Trondheim, Norway Norwegian University of Science and Technology invites applications for Unique Research Opportunities at its Centre for Ships and Ocean Structures. The applicant should indicate her/his areas of interest in terms of research projects, among those given in the website (by a letter and a number) or related items that are of interest, and how they link to previous studies and research work.
9. Part Scholarships Postgraduate for Study, University of Glasgow The Faculty of Medicine Graduate School is delighted to announce the availability of a number of part scholarships for postgraduate research study leading to the degrees of MSc (Med Sci), MD, DDS and PhD commencing September 2007. The part scholarships will typically cover the home/EU fee component (Department for Education and Skills rates).
10. Documentary Photography Distribution Grants Open Society Institute's (OSI's) Documentary Photography Project seeks applicants for a grant that encourages documentary photographers to propose new ways of using photography as an advocacy tool. Grants of $5,000 to $30,000 will be awarded.
11. RCUK Fellowship in Health Economics and Public Health, University of York University of York has successfully bid for 7 RCUK Fellowships. The Fellowships are for a 5 year period and will offer a salary within the range £25,889 - £31,840 per annum.
12. MD & PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine Vienna Biocenter Vienna Biocenter invites applications for MD & PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine. Interviews will take place 2 to 6th September, 2007. Travel expenses will be reimbursed, and free accommodation will be provided.
13. MSc Genomics Research Faculty of Applied Sciences Applications are invited for MSc Genomics Research Faculty of Applied Sciences. The programme is especially suited to biologists and biomedical scientists wishing either to extend their expertise in this area, or to enhance and update existing experience.
14. PhD Studentship School of Psychology - University of Nottingham University of Nottingham invites applications for PhD Studentship School of Psychology. A postgraduate stipend of $12,600 will be provided in October 2007 and home fees.
15. PhD Scholarships at The Vienna School of Governance (ViGo), University of Vienna University of Vienna invites application for PhD Scholarships. Accepted research students will receive a monthly scholarship and are freed from tuition fees.
16. PhD Studentships, Quantum Chemistry Modeling of Zeolites There are open PhD. positions in the group of Dr. Stepan Sklenak of the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of ASCR, v.v.i., Prague, Czech Republic.
17. Ph.D. positions in Bioinformatics/Computational Genomics - Unifob AS Two three-year PhD positions in bioinformatics are available at The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Bergen. Candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as be strongly motivated to pursue an academic career.
18. Apoptotic Signaling PhD student position - RCSI Research Institute Applications are invited for a 3 year PhD student position funded by the Research Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. The applicants should have a background in cell biology, biophysics, molecular biology or biochemistry.
19. Fulbright Doctoral Dissertation Research Program at USA This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities for Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation. The grant duration is for a period of three to six months. The applicant should have a minimum TOEFL score of 575 to participate in this program.
