A. Scholarships
1. Undergraduate Scholarships in Medicine - Medical Scholarships to be offered across the Caribbean The University of Grenada is to offer 75 full Undergraduate Scholarships in Medicine to people from across the British Commonwealth in an attempt to tackle the region’s ‘brain drain’. Preference for the scholarships is to be given to developing countries and small states.
2. Commonwealth-Grenada St. George’s University Scholarship Program The Commonwealth-Grenada St. George’s University Scholarship Program will offer 75 full tuition scholarships over the next few years to qualified students from Commonwealth countries, with preference to students from developing countries and small states. Both undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships are on offer.
3. IAD Tuition Fellowship (Master's Degree Scholarship at Cornell University,USA) The Institute for African Development - IAD Tuition Fellowship Award is a one-year non-renewable and non-extendable fellowship awarded on a competitive basis to graduate students from sub Saharan Africa. Offered on an annual basis, the fellowship covers tuition and fees for one academic year. The Taiwan ICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Programs 2007 applications are being accepted. Postgraduate masters and PhD scholarships are available in different areas of study including agriculture, business, technology, health, nursing, aquatic science, environment, and engineering.
5. Elva Knight Research Grant (funding available to students in African universities) The Elva Knight Research Grant provides up to US$10,000 for research in reading and literacy. Contingent upon available funds in any given year, as many as four grants may be awarded. Non-North Americans and classroom teachers are especially encouraged to apply.
The MA in Modern Slavery Studies offers students the opportunity to study slavery and emancipation in various historical contexts and to explore the conditions under which slavery continues to exist today. 10 Bicentenary Scholarships are available for MA in Modern Slavery Studies, MA in Diversity, Culture and Identity and MA in Criminology and Human Rights.
7. 100 Master Scholarships for Foreign Students - Politecnico di Milano, Italy Every year there is the opportunity to request consideration for specific scholarships offered to international students. On the on-line application form, candidates may express their desire to be considered for the financially- based merit scholarships they are eligible for. Students obtaining a scholarship will have to pay only a nominal tuition fee of €144.
8. Master of Nonprofit Organizations Scholarships (Mandel Scholarship, USA) Full-time applicants for the Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) degree at Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organisations, Case Western Reserve University , may qualify for a merit-based full tuition scholarship. International students are encouraged to apply.
9. Scholarships at Alta Scuola Politecnica(ASP), Italy The Alta Scuola Politecnica is launching a call for applications addressed to young talents who want to develop their interdisciplinary capabilities for leading and promoting innovation. The ASP, through a highly selective process, will give 150 scholarships to promising foreign students for study in Italy.
10. Fellowships to Promote Mental Health Journalism Applications are invited for fellowships to promote mental health journalism. The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism include stipends of up to US$10,000, and additionally cover all travel, research, and related expenses.
11. Institute for African Development Travel Grants The Institute for African Development Travel Grants are offered in conjunction with the Einaudi Center for International Studies, to Graduate students who wish to carry out research in Africa.
12. Du Bois-Mandela-Rodney Fellowship The Center for Afroamerican and African Studies (CAAS) at the University of Michigan invites applications for the Du Bois-Mandela-Rodney Post-doctoral Fellowship Program from scholars working on Africa or the African diaspora. The fellowship package is worth $45,000 plus health insurance coverage.
13. Five College African Scholars Program The Five College African Scholars program is dedicated to supporting the research of individual scholars in Africa, strengthening partnerships among scholars in Africa and the United States , and enriching the study of Africa . Fellowships are awarded each year to African scholars. Women and men throughout Africa , particularly those who have not had recent access to such opportunities, are encouraged to apply.
14. Scholarships in Economics and Finance - Ca Foscari University of Venice, Italy The International Master's in Economics and Finance is a post graduate programme, in accordance with the Italian University system. For the 5 worthiest students part of the fee will be waived. Financial aid in the form of student loans is also available.
15. Spencer Dissertation Fellowships for Research Related to Education Approximately 30 non-renewable Spencer Dissertation Fellowships for Research Related to Education are awarded each year to encourage scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to undertake research relevant to the improvement of education. No citizenship requirements.
16. Postgraduate Research Studentship, University of Bedfordshire The University of Bedfordshire wishes to support a Master of Research Bursary in order to develop an annual festival for new and young practitioners in all aspects of Media, Art and Design. The festival will act as a showcase for students and practitioners, be an exemplar for young people and engender an enthusiasm and vigor for this area of study.
University of Westminster London is currently offering up to 5 bursaries to well qualified candidates who wish to register for Research Scholarships in Architecture, Property and Urban Development.
18. PhD Studentship in Cancer Research, University College London A PhD studentship is available at University College London. The PhD studentship has a stipend of £16,000 in the first year with annual increments over each of the following two years.
19. PhD Studentships in Psychology, University of Birmingham The School of Psychology is offering up to 10 University and Research Council funded research studentships for students wishing to start a research degree in October. The studentships pay the tuition fee and a maintenance allowance currently £12,300 per annum. Home and international students are eligible to be considered for these studentships.
20. PhD Studentship, Population Biology, University of Plymouth, UK Faculty of Science at University of Plymouth, UK invites applications for PhD Studentship, Population Biology. A salary stipend of £13600 per anum will also be paid to the successful candidate.
21. Funded PhD Opportunities, Human Rights Study, Queen's University Belfast - UK Queens University Belfast is delighted to announce two new scholarships in the area of human rights. The winner will receive an award which will cover fees and a living allowance of up to £12, 000 per year.
22. PhD Studentships (2)- Molecular Ecology and Soil Microbiology, VU University Amsterdam The Department of Animal Ecology at the VU University Amsterdam and the Centre for Terrestrial Ecology at the Netherlands Institute for Ecology are looking for two enthusiastic PhD’s. Salary is eur 2000 - 2500 and can even be up to a maximum of eur 2502.
23. Ph.D. Position in Molecular & Cellular Biology (Alzheimer's), EPFL, Switzerland The EPFL and the Brain Mind Institute are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated PhD student for a project with focus on the regulatory mechanisms of γ-secretase, an intramembrane-cleaving protease directly implicated in Alzheimers Disease as it releases the neurotoxic amyloid β-peptide (Aβ) from its large precursor (APP).
24. PhD Studentship, Population Biology, University of Plymouth, UK Faculty of Science at University of Plymouth, UK invites applications for PhD Studentship, Population Biology. A salary stipend of £13600 per anum will also be paid to the successful candidate.
25. PhD Scholarships at University of Heidelberg University of Heidelberg invites applications for PhD Scholarships. To be eligible for PhD studies at the University of Heidelberg , applicants should have a Master of Science degree (or equivalent). Applicants who do not have a Master thesis may be accepted if they can prove their ability to carry out independent research projects.
26. PhD Scholarship in Development NGOs and Human Rights Education The PhD Scholarship in Development NGOs and Human Rights Education will be awarded to the applicant whose research proposal suggests outstanding experience and potential for this study. The successful student will work with the International Centre for Education for Democratic Citizenship (ICEDC). Although you will be based in London , previous experience of a British context is not essential.
27. PhD Scholarships at Macquarie University, Sydney Four PhD Scholarships at Macquarie University, Sydney are available. Each scholarship pays $19,616 living allowance per annum, tax exempt, (2007) and the tenure is 3.5 years full time, subject to satisfactory progress.
A PhD Program in biomolecular Medicine supported by the Austrian Science Fund, has been established at the Medical University of Vienna. PhD students will receive funding for at least three years including support to visit international conferences and specialized workshops.
The Simon Institute is offering two full time PhD scholarships to support research in Public Policy and Management. Successful applicants will receive their tuition fees plus a maintenance award of £12,300 per annum.
30. PhD Student Position in Cancer Models TU Munich, Germany A graduate/doctoral student position is available at the Technical University Munich. The position is part of a project funded by the German Cancer Research Foundation (Deutsche Krebshilfe) to establish physiological animal models of human cancer.
31. Postdoctoral Position in Biochemistry/Biophysics, University of Oslo - Norway A three-year position is available at the Department of Molecular Biosciences (IMBV) on the project Personnel for biological Raman and magnetic circular dichroism studies funded by the Research Council of Norway.
