Objectives:

  • To lead application development and enhancement for organizational units of the Bank.

  • To serve as an expert in the interpretation, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Bank’s Software systems.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Under the supervision of the Division Manager of CIMM.1, the incumbent will carry out the following functions:

  • Serves as the Lead technical professional in the Development, Maintenance and Enhancement Projects of the Bank’s Application Systems by: Providing day-to-day project management of the analysis, design, coding, testing, release, and maintenance of approved corporate software applications for Bank’s business functions.

  • Determining skills and other personnel resource needs to implement project plans and coordinates participation with other teams, other system building groups, specialists in CIMM, and other Bank staff.

  • Leading and guiding team members in trouble shooting and resolving problems on ongoing projects or already implemented applications systems.

  • Determining staffing, budget, and schedule requirements, in consultation with the Division Manager, for assigned applications systems to meet Bank’s requirements and priorities. Projects and supports the implementation of the corporate information system plan at all organizational levels of the Bank.

  • Working within a team concept to develop and implement ways to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the products and/or services provided to internal and external customers.

  • Serves as an expert in the interpretation, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Bank software applications by:
  • Coordinating and leading development, maintenance and enhancement projects on the Bank’s SAP systems, SUMMIT systems, development work in Abap, Java and Oracle client server technologies as well as managing several off the shelf packages predominantly based on Oracle RDBMS and SQL Server.
  • Providing technical input for the automation, implementation, and maintenance of decision support and predictive models that support financial analysis and forecasting and applications systems of the Bank.

  • Acts on behalf of the Division Manager, the Director or Management by serving as CIMM.1 representative on various technical committees, and providing backup support to the Management on technical committees as assigned.

  • Provides leadership and guidance for the understanding and application of Bank’s rules and regulations for staff in CIMM.1. Selection Criteria:

    Including desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field;

  • Preferably seven (7) years of relevant experience. Experience in similar Financial/ Multilateral institution or any other development institution is an advantage;

  • Strong skills in planning, designing and implementation of extensive complex applications systems; good knowledge of SAP ERP, Oracle relational database systems and development environment;

  • Ability to provide guidance on web platforms and interfaces to the SAP ERP systems; Knowledge of Java and SUMMIT financial systems an advantage;

  • Good technical knowledge and experience across multiple platforms and technologies; Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines and objectives; ability to prioritize work and provide recommendations to management team;

  • Strong interpersonal, coordination and leadership skills; result-driven, customer service oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work cross-functionally and to influence senior management;

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or French with a good working knowledge of the other language;

  • Skills in use of the Bank’s standard software: Microsoft office etc., SAP or SUMMIT knowledge an advantage.
